To learn more about this wonderful Dutch breed, go to the AKC website and do a breed search. They are very intelligent, active, like having a job to do. They have an easy care coat, they do best with lot of socializationa nd interaction with people, kids, other animals. They do have an instinctual prey drive so that is something that needs to be worked with. They were used as duck luring dogs before firearms were invented. They lured ducks into a cage floating in the water, where the duck "hunter" sold them at market. This practice is now just a sport in the Netherlands.
You can also go to the NKCUSA (Nederlandse Kooikerhondje Club of the United States) website to www.NKCUSA.org to find a list of breeders in the USA.
